What is THAT HOUSE?

THAT HOUSE is a storytelling project about real homes and the people who live in them. It’s not about perfect styling or trends. It’s about character, lived-in spaces and the stories that quietly unfold inside four walls.

Homes are nominated by neighbours, friends or curious passers-by who’ve always wondered what it’s like inside THAT HOUSE.

With permission, we knock, step inside and capture the essence of the home as it truly is.

What being featured involves

If you choose to take part you can expect:

  • A relaxed visit at a time that suits you. 30mins - 1hr

  • No styling, no staging and no pressure

  • We ask that your home is tidy and clean, but not perfect

  • We may move the odd item when framing a shot, but the aim is always to capture your home and your essence — just as it is

  • A conversation as we move through the home about you, your home and how you live in it

  • 10–15 photos capturing the spaces, corners or details that tell a story, stand out to us or to you

  • 1 portrait of the main inhabitants (optional but preferred)

  • Full respect for your privacy. No addresses are disclosed. Nothing is shared without your approval.

  • Every visit will be different as every home is different. We’ll be guided by you, your home and your story.

Why we’re doing this

So many meaningful homes are never shared. Not because they aren’t beautiful or interesting but because they’re real.

Online platforms are full of aspirational, designer homes. As an architect, I understand the appeal. I love them too! But I crave authenticity and the real stories of how people live.

THAT HOUSE exists to celebrate everyday homes and the people who make them what they are.
