What is THAT HOUSE?
THAT HOUSE is a storytelling project about real homes and the people who live in them. It’s not about perfect styling or trends. It’s about character, lived-in spaces and the stories that quietly unfold inside four walls.
Homes are nominated by neighbours, friends or curious passers-by who’ve always wondered what it’s like inside THAT HOUSE.
With permission, we knock, step inside and capture the essence of the home as it truly is.
What being featured involves
If you choose to take part, here's what to expect.
We'll arrange a relaxed visit at a time that suits you — usually around 30 to 60 minutes. There's no styling, no staging, and no pressure. We ask that your home is tidy but not perfect; that's rather the point.
As we move through your home we'll have a conversation — about you, how you live, and what this place means to you. We may shift the odd thing when framing a shot, but the aim is always to capture your home as it genuinely is. We'll take 10–15 photos of the spaces, corners, and details that tell a story, and if you're open to it, a portrait of the people who live there.
Your suburb will be included as part of your story, but your full address is never disclosed. Before anything is published you'll see the photos and the written piece, and nothing goes live without your approval. You can say no to anything at any point — before, during, or after the visit.
Every home is different, and every visit will be too. We'll always be guided by you..
Why we’re doing this
So many meaningful homes are never shared. Not because they aren’t beautiful or interesting but because they’re real.
Online platforms are full of aspirational, designer homes. As an architect, I understand the appeal. I love them too! But I crave authenticity and the real stories of how people live.
THAT HOUSE exists to celebrate everyday homes and the people who make them what they are.
What happens next
Once you fill out the form below, I'll be in touch to have a quick chat and answer any questions you might have. If you're happy to go ahead, we'll find a time that works for you and take it from there — no rush, no pressure.
After the visit, you'll receive the photos and a draft of your story before anything is published. Nothing goes live without your approval, and you're welcome to change your mind at any point along the way.
Where your story will be shared
Features are published on the THAT HOUSE website and shared via Instagram and our newsletter. We include the suburb as part of each story, but full street addresses are never disclosed and no personally identifying details are shared without your agreement.
